John Stefan Medina Ramírez, commonly known as Medina, began his professional journey as a defender for Liga MX side Monterrey, joining the team in 2014. But before that milestone, he had already caught the attention of national selectors—Medina earned a spot on Colombia’s main national squad back in 2013, a significant achievement early in his career. Prior to his move to Mexico, Medina was a youth product of Atlético Nacional, where he spent just one season honing his skills before making his senior debut in 2011. That rapid progression showed his potential, and it wasn’t long before he made waves beyond Colombia. During the 2016–2017 season, Medina was loaned out to Pachuca, gaining valuable experience in one of Latin America’s top leagues. Throughout his rise, Medina has remained a consistent and reliable presence on the field, building a reputation that continues to grow. His journey—from a promising youth player to representing both club and country—highlights the determination and talent that define Medina’s career so far.
He was a key member of Colombia’s U-17 squad that secured a fourth-place finish at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Nigeria.
