He’s best known as the singer and multi-instrumentalist who shot to fame as the frontman of the new wave band A Flock of Seagulls. Over time, he continued evolving his music career and eventually released his debut solo album, Zeebratta, in March 2014—marking a new chapter in his artistic journey. Before all the spotlight, though, life looked quite different for him. Prior to forming A Flock of Seagulls, he actually worked as a hairdresser, a job that may have inspired his iconic, combed-back hairstyle that became one of his trademarks. That unique look, along with his musical talent, helped set him apart. Today, he lives a more grounded life with his wife Tara, having settled down in Brevard County, Florida. Through the years, he’s remained a distinctive figure in the music world, balancing nostalgia with fresh creative energy.
He actually had a short stint running a restaurant named The Legends Café, located in Cocoa Beach, Florida. It was a venture he was pretty passionate about, but unfortunately, the place closed down back in 2008. He learned a lot during that time, though—running The Legends Café gave him real hands-on experience in the hospitality industry. While it didn’t last long, he often reflects on those days with a sense of pride. The journey at The Legends Café may have ended in 2008, but it definitely left a lasting impression on him.
