Prior to her fame, she started writing songs during her early teenage years, showing a natural affinity for music. By the time she turned nineteen, she had already signed with Black River Entertainment, a significant milestone in her career.
Her early life was split between two cities—she spent her first thirteen years in Knoxville, Tennessee, before moving to Nashville, where she continued to grow and develop her artistry. In 2016, she took a major step in her personal life when she became engaged to Morgan Evans. The couple married in December 2017, but in August 2022, they made the public announcement of their separation. Following the split, she began a new chapter in her personal life by starting a relationship with actor Chase Stokes.
She released her debut album, The First Time, in May 2015. The album achieved gold status in the US shortly after its release.
