Katie Douglas, who hails from Ontario, Canada, began her journey in the world of acting at a very young age. Remarkably, she first appeared in commercials when she was just six years old, back in 2004. As she continued to gain experience through various commercials, her first official screen appearance came in 2007 on an episode of “F2: Forensic Factor,” which aired on the Discovery Channel.
By the time she was 14, Katie Douglas had already built a modest but promising career. She appeared in a few episodes of the Canadian comedy series “Less Than Kind,” which aired from 2008 to 2013 on City and HBO Canada. Around the same time, she made a guest appearance on the Syfy series “Alphas” during its initial run in 2011–2012. Not long after that, Katie Douglas stepped into the world of film with her debut in the thriller “Compulsion” (2013), starring Heather Graham.
One of the most notable roles in Katie Douglas’ career so far came when she portrayed Sally Wilcox in the television adaptation of the popular book series “Spooksville” (Hub Network 2013–14). Her performance in this show was met with critical acclaim and even earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination. Although the show was canceled after one season, it certainly wasn’t the end of her success.
During the same time period, Katie Douglas became a familiar face on the sci-fi series “Defiance” (Syfy 2013–2015), where she played a recurring character. She also appeared in the web series “Defiance: The Lost Ones” (2014), which served as a companion to the main show. In 2016, she took on the role of Conner Wayney in the sitcom “Raising Expectations” (Family Channel 2016– ), starring Jason Priestley and Molly Ringwald. Around this time, she also appeared in other shows like “Eyewitness” (USA Network 2016), “Burden of Truth” (CBC 2018– ), and “Max & Shred” (Nickelodeon 2014–15).
Another major milestone in Katie Douglas’ career was her role on the critically acclaimed series “Mary Kills People” (Global 2017– ), where she played the close friend of the title character’s teenage daughter. Additionally, she starred in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel “Every Day” (2018), further solidifying her presence in both television and film.
Katie Douglas has been part of several films throughout her career, but one that really stands out is Level 16 from 2018, which happens to be her highest-rated movie to date. On the flip side, there’s also Lazareth (2024), which, unfortunately, didn’t receive the same level of acclaim and is considered her lowest-rated film so far.
