She’s a lawyer and Republican politician best known for her time in the Louisiana State Senate, where she served from 2005 to 2012. Interestingly, she took office just under a month before Hurricane Katrina struck—devastating much of the region, including District 6, the area she represented. That early challenge shaped much of her public service, as she worked to support recovery efforts and rebuild trust within the community. Before entering politics, she built a solid foundation through education, first studying journalism at Louisiana State University, then going on to earn her law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans. Her professional journey reflects a blend of communication, legal expertise, and public leadership. On a personal note, she was married for ten years to hotel executive Francis Patrick Quinn, and together they raised two sons. Throughout it all, her dedication to service and resilience has remained a defining trait—something that continues to define her legacy today.
As a dedicated member of the Jefferson Parish School Board, she played a key role in establishing the parish’s very first magnet school. Her involvement was instrumental in bringing this new educational opportunity to the community, marking a significant milestone for local students and families.
