Eric Lange, an American film actor, was born on February 19, 1973, in Hamilton, Ohio. After completing his education at Miami University, he made his film debut in the Jon Lovitz-led comedy parody High School High (1996). Just two years later, in 1998, Lange transitioned to television with appearances in a couple of episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS, 1987–present), marking the beginning of what would become a long and steady presence on episodic TV.
In 2002, Lange appeared in an episode of the critically acclaimed but short-lived sci-fi series Firefly (Fox, 2002), which helped further establish his reputation in the entertainment industry. Over the next several years, he continued to appear in a wide range of popular dramas and comedies, including The Bernie Mac Show (Fox, 2001–06), Burn Notice (USA Network, 2007–13), My Name Is Earl (NBC, 2005–09), and Modern Family (ABC, 2009–present).
One of his most recognizable roles came in the 2010s when he was cast as the quirky art teacher Erwin Sikowitz on the Nickelodeon series Victorious (2010–13), where he played a recurring character that became a fan favorite. Around the same time, he also appeared in shows like Castle (ABC, 2009–16), and took on a recurring role in the FX crime drama The Bridge (2013–14), which was widely praised by critics.
As the decade progressed, Lange found increasing success, particularly in more dramatic roles. In 2016, he joined the main cast of the Netflix original series Narcos for its second season, portraying Bill Stechner. He also appeared in the 2017 thriller Wind River, directed by Taylor Sheridan, playing the role of Dr. Whitehurst. The film was both a critical and commercial success, further solidifying Lange’s place in the film industry.
Later in 2018, Lange was cast in the miniseries Waco, which served as a flagship production for the rebranding of the Spike network into Paramount Network. The series starred Michael Shannon and Melissa Benoist, and Lange’s performance contributed to the show’s strong reception. Over the years, Eric Lange has built a diverse and impressive career, consistently delivering memorable performances across both television and film.
When it comes to Eric Lange’s filmography, one standout performance definitely comes to mind—his role in Wind River (2017), which happens to be his highest-rated movie. Critics and audiences alike have praised the film for its gripping storytelling and intense atmosphere, and Eric Lange’s contribution certainly added to its success. On the other hand, looking at the lower end of the spectrum, Eric Lange was also part of Antebellum (2020), a film that received notably mixed to negative reviews. While the movie aimed for a bold narrative, it didn’t resonate as well with viewers or critics, making it Eric Lange’s lowest-rated film to date. Overall, Eric Lange has shown range across different genres, but it’s clear that projects like Wind River truly highlight his strengths as an actor. Eric Lange continues to build a diverse career, and fans are always curious to see what role he’ll take on next.
