MiniBio

Connie Sellecca, a tall, dark-haired beauty with porcelain-like skin, rose to prominence as a leading lady in a variety of television series. In addition to her acting career, she also ventured into fashion design, creating her own clothing line for Montgomery Ward, and served as a model for Revlon. Her high-profile marriage to TV anchor and singer John Tesh added to her public presence. Originally from Pomona, she relocated to New York City immediately after high school to chase her dream of becoming an actress. Despite facing a few challenging and unrewarding years early on, her career took off dramatically with her first major television role in The Bermuda Depths (ABC, 1978), where she portrayed a mysterious woman who returns from the dead.

Following that breakthrough, Sellecca focused on television series, starting with Flying High (CBS, 1978), in which she played a flight attendant. She later appeared in the short-lived Beyond Westworld (CBS, 1980), portraying the attractive assistant to the head of a global corporation. Her role as William Katt’s girlfriend in The Greatest American Hero (ABC, 1981–83) brought her greater recognition. Then, in 1983, she landed what would become her most defining role: Christine Francis, the assistant to the general manager, played by James Brolin, in the hit series Hotel (ABC, 1983–88).

Though her next series ventures didn’t last long—P.S. I Luv You (CBS, 1991), where she played a quirky woman in witness protection, and the ill-fated Second Chances (CBS, 1993), which was cut short after a devastating earthquake destroyed its sets—Connie Sellecca remained a consistent presence on television. She continued to appear in TV movies such as The Last Fling (ABC, 1987), Turn Back the Clock (NBC, 1989), and Miracle Landing (CBS, 1990).

In addition to acting, Sellecca expanded her role behind the scenes, serving as both producer and star in A House of Secrets and Lies (CBS, 1992), where she played a woman deeply entangled with her unfaithful husband. She also starred in Passport to Murder (NBC, 1993), playing a woman stalked in Paris, and portrayed a bigamist in She Led Two Lives (NBC, 1994). Later, she played a woman reconnecting with her long-lost first love in A Holiday to Remember (CBS, 1995). More recently, she appeared in Mary Higgins Clark’s While My Pretty One Sleeps (Family Channel, 1997), where she played a woman caught in a dangerous situation involving the Mob.
