A highly innovative inventor and accomplished businessman, he gained widespread recognition for developing the groundbreaking process called stereolithography—commonly known today as 3D printing. As a co-founder of the prominent 3D printer manufacturing company 3D Systems, he played a pivotal role in shaping the future of modern manufacturing. Holding more than 60 distinct patents, his contributions to technology and engineering have left a lasting impact.

Before achieving fame and professional success, he completed his early education at Central High School in Grand Junction, Colorado. He later pursued higher education, earning a degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado in 1961. On a personal note, he married a woman named Anntionette, and together they built a family, raising two children.
