MiniBio

Underage performers who are also identical twins often find themselves with a unique edge in Hollywood. Thanks to Screen Actors Guild regulations, these twins can alternate in the same role, effectively doubling the number of hours they’re allowed to work each day as child actors. This proved to be a significant opportunity for Christian Cousins, whose twin brother is named Joseph. As a result of this arrangement, the duo experienced a surge in acting opportunities during the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.

Their career began gaining momentum with eight episodes of the CBS prime-time soap opera Knots Landing. The show, known for its dramatic exploration of the intertwined lives of five families in Los Angeles, became their most notable television project to date. Their involvement spanned three seasons, from 1987 to 1990, marking a substantial chapter in their early careers.

In addition to that, Christian and Joseph Cousins made appearances in a few other popular series. They had single-episode roles on Father Dowling Mysteries, a crime-solving series centered around a priest, as well as on Empty Nest and the quirky airport comedy Wings. However, by 1994, they took on what would become one of their more unusual yet fitting roles.

That year, the Cousins twins were cast in the comedy Twin Sitters, a film that leaned heavily into the novelty of twin actors. The movie brought together several pairs of identical siblings, creating a lighthearted and somewhat surreal ensemble. Adding to the film’s eclectic appeal was the presence of former James Bond actor George Lazenby in a supporting role, rounding out what was arguably the most distinctive entry in the twins’ filmography.

Trivia

Christian Cousins’s most acclaimed movie is Kindergarten Cop (1990), which also happens to be the film that received the least favorable reviews.
