MiniBio

Chris Zylka, originally named Chris Settlemire, was born in May 1985 in Warren, Ohio. He chose to go by his stage name, Chris Zylka, which he borrowed from his mother’s maiden name. His journey into the entertainment world began in 2008 when he made a guest appearance on the CW series “90210,” a reboot of the popular “Beverly Hills, 90210” from the ‘90s.

After gaining some exposure from the teen drama, Chris Zylka ventured into comedy with a recurring role on “Everybody Hates Chris,” a show produced by Chris Rock and aired on UPN and later the CW. Continuing to build his acting portfolio, he took on a sixteen-episode guest role on the ABC Family series “10 Things I Hate About You” in 2009.

A major milestone in Chris Zylka’s career came in 2011 when he joined the main cast of “The Secret Circle,” a supernatural teen drama airing on the CW. In the show, he played Jake Armstrong, a former witch hunter. Despite a strong following among teenage viewers, the series was unfortunately cancelled in 2012.

In the same year, Chris Zylka took on a key role in the blockbuster film “The Amazing Spider-Man” as Eugene “Flash” Thompson. He reprised the character for the sequel, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” in 2014, though his scenes were ultimately cut from the final version.

Chris Zylka later joined the cast of the post-apocalyptic HBO series “The Leftovers” from 2014 to 2017, portraying Tommy Garvey, a college dropout turned religious follower. During breaks in filming, he also appeared in several other projects, including the comedy horror “Freaks of Nature” (2015), the indie drama “Bare” (2015), the crime thriller “Dixieland” (2015), and the Lifetime TV movie “I Killed My BFF” (2015).

In addition, Chris Zylka appeared in Xavier Dolan’s film “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.” However, the film, which stars Kit Harington, faced delays due to recasting and reshoots, pushing back its release.
