MiniBio

The pretty brunette actress Chelsea Field first appeared on television in 1983 as a dancer on the popular music show Solid Gold. However, she is most widely recognized for her role as Teela, the Captain of the Royal Guard at Eternos’ palace, in the 1987 live-action He-Man movie Masters of the Universe. Unfortunately, that film was a major box office disappointment and received harsh criticism from reviewers.

Following this setback, Chelsea Field continued to build her career with appearances on several popular TV shows of the 1980s. She made a memorable guest spot on the Golden Globe-winning drama Thirtysomething and took on a recurring role in the Emmy-nominated high school drama The Bronx Zoo. In 1989, she landed the lead role of Samantha Sullivan in the medical drama Nightingales, a series centered around the lives of nurses. Despite high hopes, the show was canceled after just one season.

The following year, Field was cast as Cassy Swann in the newsroom drama Capital News, another short-lived series that didn’t survive past its initial season. While she never quite reached A-list status, Chelsea Field remained a consistent presence in the entertainment industry throughout the 1990s. She appeared in notable films such as The Last Boy Scout, starring Bruce Willis, and played roles in the family-oriented aquatic adventures Andre and Flipper.

In 1999, she had a unique chance to act opposite her real-life husband, Scott Bakula, in the television adaptation of Tom Clancy’s NetForce, playing the role of a cruel ex-wife. After this project, Field gradually shifted her focus away from television and film, opting instead to explore opportunities in theater and spend more time raising her two sons, Wil and Owen, with Bakula.
