Alexa Blair is a professional dancer, TikTok sensation, actress, model, and inspiring pediatric cancer survivor. In 2022, she became a proud member of the Knicks City Dancers, showcasing her talent on a professional stage. Alexa also ventured into acting, landing a role in the film One Summer, which premiered in the fall of 2021. Alongside that, she has appeared in several other minor roles in both television and film, steadily building her presence in the entertainment industry.
On social media, particularly on her Instagram page @alexablair, Alexa frequently shares behind-the-scenes glimpses and performances from her time with the Knicks City Dancers, giving fans a closer look at her dynamic career.
Before rising to fame, Alexa faced one of life’s toughest battles. At just four years old, she was diagnosed with stage four Wilms’ tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer. Her journey began with emergency surgery, followed by years of rigorous treatment before she was finally declared cancer-free. Through it all, she remained passionate about dance and returned to the art form whenever her health allowed, slowly refining her craft.
Her hard work paid off — in 2015, she was selected as one of only eight dancers to perform with none other than Janet Jackson during the Raleigh stop of her world tour. Alexa continued to pursue dance throughout high school and college, eventually transitioning into a full-time professional dancer. Born in North Carolina, Alexa grew up in Raleigh alongside her parents and two sisters, surrounded by a strong support system that helped shape the resilient and talented woman she is today.
She was told she had only an 11% chance of surviving her battle with cancer. Despite the odds, she remained determined and excelled academically, earning the prestigious academic excellence award in science during her time in high school. Her passion for the sciences led her to pursue a major in biology, complemented by minors in both chemistry and dance at Duke University. Throughout her journey, she has held onto her dream of becoming a pediatric surgeon, inspired by a deep desire to help children. While in college, she dedicated her time to volunteering, working in special education at an elementary school and also sharing her love for dance by teaching it to young children. Her resilience and commitment to making a difference continue to shine through everything she does.
